REIKI – THE WORK AND ITS ORIGIN

Reiki(pronounced ray-key) is Japanese in origin and is translated to mean “Universal Life Force”. It is represented by two ideograms. The first, Rei, means Universal, all encompassing, spirit, or wisdom. The second, Ki, refers to life force, the breath of life, or that which is in all things. When combined, they form the grand concept of Spiritually Guided Universal Life Force Energy. The result being greater than the sum of the parts. Reiki is more than energy, more than spirit. It is greater than we mere mortals can put into words or completely understand. Reiki represents transformation guided by spiritual wisdom. The true meaning of reiki can only be understood and known through experience. (Taken from Patti Templin’s work “Stepping Stones to Reiki”)

*REIKI SESSION DESCRIPTION

The Stepping Stones to Reiki Treatment Imagine entering a room with candles burning, beautiful spiritual music playing softly. You are invited to lie down on the massage table fully clothed. You are gently lifted and warm nurturing stones are placed beneath your spine. Other stones are placed upon your torso. You feel as though you are being cradled by the Earth Mother. Your chakras are attuned and harmonized, stress fades away and you enter into a space of healing light, filling you with peace and serenity. You have no sense of time or urgency. You finish the session feeling rejuvenated, purified, and revitalized. (Taken from Patti Templin’s work “Stepping Stones to Reiki”)
