MASSAGE THERAPIST

Licensed massage therapist (LMT), Certified Shiatsu Practitioner, Certified in Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST), Lymph Drainage Massage (LDM), fasciae and muscle release protocols, Swedish massage and hot towel protocols. Have experience with Healing Touch, Chakra Balancing and other energy modalities.

I have been a practitioner of the healing arts for over 20 years. I have an integrated style of providing healing through Shiatsu, CST, LDM techniques along with different types of Massage and energy work that address the needs of the body at the time.

I have also spent years working with people spiritually and practically regarding their innate gifts, through models of communication based in a view that people are all already connected, spiritually and physically…we are all breathing the same air!!

I was originally educated as a massage therapist in New Jersey at the Morris Institute of NJ. I then became a traditional Chinese Shiatsu practitioner. This includes “Hara Diagnosis”, Chinese pulses at the wrist and looking at the tongue to see what the body needs.

I returned to Colorado after becoming certified in the above. (I grew up in Evergreen, Colo). I joined Dennis Simpson in starting the Evergreen Healing Arts Center which evolved into the Colorado School of Healing Arts in Lakewood, Colorado. This school has been providing the best and most current education for massage therapists for over 25 years. I am a co-founder plus a graduate of this school.

My interest and what I now provide in 60-90+ minute sessions:
Cranial/Sacral Therapy initial protocol – 90 minutes or more. CST boosts the body’s natural healing processes and has proven efficacious for a wide range of medical problems including:

• Chronic neck and back pain
• Foggy thinking
• Dyslexia, learning disabilities
• ADD/ADHD.
• Autism and other learning disabilities
• TMJ issues and help with braces and mouth surgeries
• Post-traumatic stress disorder
• Fibromyalgia
• Chronic migraine, cluster and low grade ongoing headaches

The skull/brain/spine and sacrum are the center of the entire body; much can be moved to a healing or corrective state through CST and should be included with any therapy that is wellness based.

Lymph Drainage Massage –LDM is excellent pre/post-surgery; it is the best natural way to eliminate swelling in any area of the body including many cosmetology aspects, edema, swelling from dental work, organ draining (detox). This is one of the best modalities to help athletes perform better in competitions plus recovery time can be cut up to 50%. Please book at least 90 minutes per session.
Chinese Shiatsu – client wears loose clothing for this treatment. Work is done along the meridians of the body, either to “tonify or sedate” using acupressure type massage. Shiatsu addresses the mind/body/spirit connection. Many passive stretches and joint rotations are done during session.
Combination of any other therapies with shiatsu, please schedule at least 90 minutes to 120 minutes.
Reflexology – Also based in ancient Chinese medicine which recognizes that the foot reflects all aspects of the body. Chinese believe that as you age one of the most important things to do is to keep the feet, ankles and toes flexible. Reflexology assists the body in detoxification, and can reduce pain from headaches, backaches, etc.
For reflexology that starts with ionized footbath, please schedule for 90 minutes. Ionized footbath pulls toxins out of the body through the soles of the feet. Soak in warm water for 20-30 minutes and you will see the toxins floating in the water!
Energy Work
Healing Touch – Designed by a nurse that worked with infants just born or one’s that had a rough birth process. She noticed that if she concentrated, worked with colors and energy that the babies would calm down, go to sleep relaxed, their colic would get better, etc. This energy work can help with inflammation, tight muscles and chronic pain.
Chakra Balancing – Everybody has these 7 energy centers that can out of alignment from stress, bad diet, overworking, etc. When these energy centers are all in alignment people report that they feel integrated, and “whole”.
